» Directories - Bid For Position
A lot of Bid for Position directories are said to involve cross-linking with other directories or affiliated websites - at inflated prices. Generally speaking, these directories are disfavored and are not recommended, although there may be some that might be accurate. Buyer beware. We have not conducted reviews of the sites listed herein, and do not recommend any of them. We have stopped accepting submissions to this category, but if a site is already listed it we will not be immediately de-listing it.
Bid for position directories are usually small paid directories that list sites in the order of the amount said to be paid by the websites listed. So, the top listed site is the site that is said to have paid the most, the next listed site is said to have paid second most and so on; critics believe the reported amounts paid may be inflated. Bid for position directories are in contrast to traditional directories in which sites are listed by number of clicks, page rank or alphabetically.
